85' X 28' STEEL CATAMARAN "RED RHINO"
Originally built for the navy in 1966 and then sold to a private company
where she was used as a support/work vessel for many years. Sold again
in 2004 and the new & current owner took her into an extensive drydock
(2005) spending almost $500,000. Upgrades were made and the owners intent
was to use her more as an expedition/mothership vessel. Well, the plan
changed!
Huge aft deck space has plenty room for cargo/gear /material etc. which
can be handled with its 2 ton crane & 8,000 lb. capstan.
Large 2 story deck house w wheel house, galley/mess room, 2 staterooms,
2 crew cabins & captains quarters, office, full work shop, dive compressor
& wet room & 2 heads.
Powered by twin 8V-71 Detroit diesels with an 8,000 gallon fuel capacity.
Five stations, Wagner hydraulic jog levers and Mathers Micro Commander
throttle controls.
Equipped with three generators, two Detroit 40-kw and one new 72-kw
Caterpillar 3054T.
Electronics, water maker, welder, tender w Honda outboard engine, safety

Many possibilities with this vessel. Possibly work as a support or research
vessel or work as a mooring/buoy tender, salvage, construction, towing
